Winter Solstice Retreat

  • Mudgeeraba Community Centre at Firth Park Somerset Drive Mudgeeraba, QLD, 4213 Australia (map)

Join me for a prosperous evening of ritual and ceremony as we celebrate the ancient wisdom of the Winter Solstice.

Winter Solstice is the dead of night. It is the deepest and darkest moment of the year. At this time, we spend long hours in darkness as the daylight hours dwindle significantly. And while many people see this as the ‘dead’ time of year, it is actually the principal moment of rebirth. It is here where your new self can be born. Governed by the Water element in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Winter encourages you to feel, gestate and create, like the warm darkness of a mother’s womb. The Water element is soft but incredibly powerful, and it can morph into countless shapes and sizes. It can swell like great waves and create beauty, wisdom, and emotion, but it can also trickle slowly and find the lowest points of your mind, creating challenge, depth, and fear.

Throughout this ritual, I hope to share my knowledge with you, highlighting the qualities of this element and its strengths. Through this sharing, I hope you find wisdom, practice, and insight that move you mindfully through the challenges of this season. It may even prepare you for the exciting growth to come.
